Ufone 4G has provided its flagship Wifi internet device; ‘Blaze’ to each participant of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Civic Internship Program.

Purpose of giving wifi devices is to enable women in remote areas of KP to participate in the remote internship program hassle frees so they can pursue their IT career while working from home.

For the first cohort of the Women Internship Program, our focus is on inclusion of women from three underserved districts of KP into the program, which includes districts Bajaur, Mohmand and Charsadda, where women graduates face challenges accessing career opportunities, as well as social and cultural barriers in seeking employment. The program will facilitate these interns to work remotely and join different sessions and workshops online aimed at their technical and soft skills development.

A cohort of 09 interns of varying background were selected. The internship program officially kicked off in October 2021. During their 6-month internship, the interns will get an opportunity to work on citizen-facing digital services to improve citizen engagement, automate government processes, and create innovation in public service delivery. These digital services will help solve problems in various public domains.

“We are delighted to partner with Ufone 4G to deliver Blaze to women Interns from the KP Women Civic Internship Program,” said Anam Zakaria, Code for Pakistan’s Head of Fellowships.
