Digital Initiatives by Governmental Entities in Pakistan
Government entities in Pakistan are rapidly moving towards digital adoption. These initiatives help make government services more accessible, reduce paperwork, and be citizen-centric.
Punjab IT Board recently developed E-Abiana for the Punjab Irrigation Department, a digital mechanism for the collection of water charges and fines.
Another initiative that caught our eye is the Domicile Management System, a fully automated centralized mechanism. It benefits the stakeholders & citizens by making the workflow easier, saving time and cost.
The Mobile App is now operational in Districts Kasur and Multan. You can download the app and explore the service.
One by-product of digitization is paperwork reduction, both at the front & backend, making the process simpler for all stakeholders. A recent example is the KP Government’s plan to issue E-Stamp papers.
A more prominent example of paper reduction is the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). It has made the company incorporation process and certificate issuance digitized.
As an organization that bridge the gap between governments & citizens, facilitating digital adoption and making e-governance more citizen-centric. To see these initiatives at the start of 2022 by different government organizations is a pure delight.
We hope this trend continues in 2022 and beyond!
